Selam Elementary School

This project is the twin beekeeping project, conducted with Selam Elementary School in Wukro, Ehtiopia, and with El Verano School. The project is funded by the Mental Insight Foundation from the United States of America.

1. This is the Selam Elementary School in Wukro Ethiopia
2. Deputy students of the school came to the instruction classes from Pieter Hoff at the beekeepers
3. The students had to learn to assemble the Groasis Waterboxxes
4. The students learned about the destroyed primary roots and how to repair them
5. Then the students learn to plant without damaging the roots
6. The students understand that the top of the pot has to be equal to the top of the soil
7. They fill the middle of the Waterboxx® with 4 liters (1 gallon) and then the Waterboxx® itself with 16 liters (4 gallons) of water
8. The middle is filled indirectly so that the roots do not wash out
9. On the second day another delegation of students receives an instruction session
10. The students of the Salem School are deeply concentrated
12. The reception committee of Salem School dressed like angels
13. Other children had fantastic student 'Harvard like' clothing
14. Three beautifully dressed ladies prepared a coffee ceremony
15. Traditional bread was baked to be broken by the guests
16. Ms. Zewdi Abadi and Mr. Pieter Hoff were invited to break the bread

18. Then the coffee was prepared for the guests
19. After the ceremony the students performed a play where they demonstrated that bees are being killed by newly introduced pesticides
20. Then they played how they went to the parliament to protest
21. The parliament of course didn't listen to the complaints of the poor farmers the interests of the big chemical industries are more important
22. Lots of students played the role of civilians supporting the farmers demands
23. Other students were proudly watching their colleagues
24. Mr. Alem Abraha speeched about the miracles of beelife
25. Ms. Zewdi Abadi was awarded for her accomplishment to get the school and beeproject started
26. As Ms. Virginia Hubbel from USA based Mental Insigt Foundation thanks to whom the project was initiated could not come Pieter Hoff took her honours and received MIF's award to bring it
