Save costs and earn money with the Groasis Technology

Is the Waterboxx® plant cocoon expensive, or is it not? The answer depends on the costs compared to the expected advantages. Using a car is more expensive than walking. However, in many cases the extra costs are accepted compared to the extra advantages of the car. Therefore, most people prefer a car although at first sight, a car is more expensive than walking.

The same reasoning works for the Waterboxx® plant cocoon. On fertile land, one can plant seeds or trees without its use - the Waterboxx® plant cocoon can be useful, not certainly not necessary. However, fertile land can be used for annual crops that usually offer a higher ROI (return on investment) than trees. So, in this case, we prefer to use fertile – and more expensive - land for these kinds of crops. Expensive land makes the cost of tree planting too high: the high capital costs (capital and interest) of an investment in land for the necessary long period - from the moment of planting until harvest - make it almost impossible to have an interesting or even acceptable ROI.

This is where the Groasis Waterboxx® plant cocoon starts to play its important role. The Waterboxx® plant cocoon offers great savings as it allows us to plant trees on presently almost worthless land. This means that planting trees with the Waterboxx® plant cocoon can be much cheaper than planting trees on expensive land. The Waterboxx® plant cocoon advantage is even triple: the investment is lower; the ROI is higher; and most of the appreciation can come in the form of capital gains (mostly untaxed or deferred). Taking almost worthless land and making it into valuable land with a promising crop of trees coming - that is an interesting proposition and makes the upfront cost of the Waterboxx® plant cocoon appear rather small and insignificant.

Besides these obvious advantages that already make the Waterboxx® plant cocoon such an interesting investment, there are even more not-so-obvious advantages. The cost of the box (if bought in quantity) is around 10 euro/tree (currently $12.50). Because the Waterboxx® plant cocoon can be re-used 10 times, the cost decreases to 1 euro/tree. We are even successfully testing 2 plantings per year on the same land; the cost might even be further reduced (i.e. increased ROI).

If you can successfully plant seeds rather than saplings in the Waterboxx® plant cocoon, you can further reduce costs. The choice of seeds vs. other planting material is very important. You must read further sections (e.g. Saplings, Planting material, etc.) in order to be fully informed and make the right decisions for your particular situation and circumstances. And even if you plant young saplings rather than seeds, you still avoid the higher cost of a 2 or 3-year-old tree, which is a typical practice today. You can also use the much cheaper choice of a plant cutting or a hardened plant made from tissue culture. The savings on plant cost can be more than one euro; the use of the Waterboxx® plant cocoon is thus already a net-plus for a profitable business model.

Another big advantage of using the Waterboxx® plant cocoon is that you don’t need expensive irrigation! The Waterboxx® plant cocoon is a unique planting method which stimulates the development of the key - and often overlooked - type of root system: deep penetrating radicle roots instead of superficial secondary roots.  You thus immediately save yourself the large investment in an irrigation system, a complicated electricity network, and you use no expensive external energy. Water is finally getting a "market price" in many countries, which will encourage its responsible and sustainable use.

Drip irrigation is not as efficient as people assume. It annually uses – for the life of each tree - approximately 1,500 liters (400 gal.) of water per tree. When water was "free", no one calculated the cost. Now, water is becoming more scarce and expensive. It is expected that by 2025, every grower world-wide will be paying for the water used in his production.

The Groasis Waterboxx® plant cocoon uses manual, external water only twice! 1 time, 40 liters to create a capillary column, and 20 liters just to get the young tree started. Starting to plant now with Groasis Waterboxx® plant cocoons® is therefore very intelligent - it means that you can have trees producing fruit by 2025 without the use of expensive irrigation. The Groasis Waterboxx® plant cocoon offers so many cost advantages, that its use is in most cases, cost neutral; and in the longer term, it saves huge amounts of money, thereby reducing the production costs of our food and wood. The Waterboxx® plant cocoon technology is a complete growing system which offers the possibility of high ROI, sustainability, and a significant contribution to the world's food and resource problems that we all want to solve.

So, we come back to where we started: Is the Waterboxx® plant cocoon expensive, or is it not?  You now know the answer!  In most cases, it is more interesting to plant trees with the Waterboxx® plant cocoon on cheap land than to plant trees without the Waterboxx® plant cocoon on expensive land. The technology is now at hand, and the opportunity awaits you. Good luck!
