The function of the taproot
No plant can survive in eroded, dry or rocky areas without having a sound primary root. The characteristic of these areas is that rain falls in short periods and then drains deep into the capillary canal system of the soil. The only way for the tree to get this water is having a deep penetrating primary root. If you plant a tree or a shrub with a destroyed primary root and with well developed secundary roots, it will die if you do not use irrigation. If you want to plant in dry areas without irrigation you have to follow the guidelines of the Groasis Technology that teach you how to produce plants with intact primary roots. After reading ‘Do I use seedlings or cuttings with the Groasis Technology’ and ‘How to make good planting material with the Groasis Technology’ , you know how to produce the perfect primary root.
