Micro credit

This message is for
Anyone,
Banks,
Foundations,
Governments,
NGO’s,
Philanthropists,

who is interested in the fate of the poor

and want to help solving their water and food problem

The biggest difficulty for people in developing countries is the entrance to capital. Until now, in order to produce food in dry areas, poor farmers need capital to install an energy network, make a well, buy and install pumps, install pipes and tubes. And after doing so they get a monthly energy bill. This all asks so much money that for most of them it is impossible and that’s how the food crisis remains and people keep on starving of hunger.

The Groasis waterboxx can be a part of the solution to solve it: it is simple to install, simple to understand, it is cheap and it works. By offering a micro credit to people in need of water and food, they will be able to plant vegetables and trees. Each month the box can help sowing and/or planting corn or other vegetables and help getting them through the first difficult period. As soon as the vegetables are rooted well, farmers can remove the box and plant the next vegetable or tree. In this way a waterboxx can help planting 20 to 40 vegetable plants annually with an up to now unimaginable water efficiency. The box can also be used to plant one tree each year. In some countries, for instance Kenya with 2 rainy seasons, even two trees per year. In this way one box can help planting 10 to 20 trees during its lifetime.
And look how this affects the numbers:

  1. 10 boxes x 1 tree per year x 10 years = 100 trees
  2. 10 boxes x 2 trees per year x 10 years = 200 trees
  3. 10 boxes x 3 corn plants x 12 months x 10 years = 3600 plants

In this way a small farmer with one hectare of soil is able to create himself a living when 10 years after starting his whole area is covered with trees producing fruit, wood, honey and many other interesting products.

Because Pieter Hoff is a grower himself, he knows how a grower thinks: he thinks from generation to generation and wants his land to be worked at by his children. 10 years might seem long for someone from the city. For a farmer working and living for ages in his village, it is just a blink of an eye.

So if your organization is able to create micro finance possibilities to farmers willing to use the waterboxx, this may prove to be a cheap and easy to understand technique to help solving the food problem. If you consider this opportunity, then show courage and don’t hesitate offering them this financial facility.

People in dry countries need your help!
